From Mandate to Mess: Dems snoozing on the left so long they can’t wake up to do the right thing
Democrats have been waiting it out in the left wing so long they don’t know how to do the right thing. The right thing is to remove the president from office. The right thing is to stop funding the war; the right thing is to listen to the people who elect them rather than the lobbyist who pay them. The right thing is to move the country, not with a vertebra crunching yank to the far left, but a kinder, gentler nudge to the center.
Product Placement and Celebrity Crime
The talk show hosts and the bloggers have all predictably jumped on the latest celebrity screw-up, Al Gore III’s California mis-adventure. Somehow we’re all supposed to be shocked and embarrassed for dear old Dad, presidential shoulda-been Al Gore II. But this time around we weren’t even paying attention to whether the smart-ass kid got a year in the can or a single night at the Paris Hilton. We didn’t care whether he was doing Budweiser or Coke, Margaritas or MaryJane, whether he was caught in or out of his underwear. No, we were all simply shocked that a Prius could go one hundred miles an hour!
Campaign to Bribe the President
Isn’t it time for a Campaign to Bride the President? It’s obvious from the 2000 election and the recent 2006 mid-term election that voting simply doesn’t work. It’s also apparent that bribery does. If voters simply sent one dollar to George Bush at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington DC 20500, maybe we could finally get the ear of the chief executive and bring some troops home.
The Pressure Is On!
As anti-war sentiment escalates in America, there’s growing pressure for Iraqi’s government to step up. Sure they’ve got their problems; after all it’s a multi faction, multifaceted country with diverse interests. Who doesn’t have problems? If they want a model for success, all they need to do is take look at how the United States Congress gets along. Ok, maybe they should take a look at Luxembourg instead.
